WEC Group is extremely pleased to announce that our third brand-new 10kW Fibre Laser Cutting Machine is now fully operational at our Laser Engineering site in Darwen, following significant investment in our laser cutting capabilities and capacity.
This new acquisition is part of a £4m investment plan over the past 12 months, during which the company has replaced our old CO2 laser line-up (including one of our tube lasers) with four of the very latest fibre lasers.
The new lasers also feature integrated sheet loading and part sorting automation, resulting in a 30% increase in overall laser cutting capacity.
The first two machines, received at the end of last year, have been crucial in our successful efforts to supply over 12,000 sheet metal assemblies for the VentilatorChallengeUK consortium and the new Nightingale Hospitals last month, making us very excited about this latest addition.
This brings our Group’s total to 24 laser cutting machines, including 10 fibre lasers. To discuss your laser cutting enquiries, please contact us by emailing weclaser@wecl.co.uk or calling us on +44 (0)1254 700201.
